I’ve been dreaming of qualifying for the Boston Marathon since October of 2009. I have seen many accomplishments in my athletic career; however, I have never been as determined to succeed in this goal as I am now.

I started training with Sean White and the Natural Strength Crossfit Studio in January of 2010. In Crossfit I found the motivation and accountability I needed to give me a competitive edge in running. I quickly saw improvements in my speed and power; ultimately, increasing my drive and confidence.

This year I have set several Personal Records in 5k, 10k,1/2 marathon and full marathon distances. I look forward to each training session, because I know it’s taking me one step closer to Boston!

I currently commit two to four hours, seven days a week to my training schedule. A typical day consists of speed work or swimming laps in the mornings and Crossfit workouts in the evenings. I log fifty to sixty kilometers a week running, regardless of wind, snow, 40 + degree celcius temperatures and mud!

I am looking for any contributions, which will assist me in reaching my goal. In a year, I put approximately 3,000 kilometers on my legs; which works out to three or four pairs of shoes. Not surprisingly, I pay special care to my diet. I follow Dr. Sears Zone Diet strictly with an additional focus on organic health foods.
